Pregnant again...

Now that I've posted our life story, we are pleased to say that we are pregnant with our 3rd baby due to arrive December 23! I didn't plan on having the baby in December, I actually had tests done and had bought fertility pills because we had to go on them to get pregnant with McKelle, but after I bought the pills I found out I was already pregnant! We know that we are having a boy and we are so excited for his arrival.

Trevor is Born!

Now that I've bawled my eyes out from my last blog - Trevor was born like I said on August 21, 2004. He is now 4 years old and so full of energy and life. He was the BEST baby when he was born. He was so content all the time and a great comfort to us. Then he started to get mobile - and that's when he became trouble! He got into everything and anything and tests our patience as a 4 year old now! He is such a hoot, though, and continually has us laughing at the things he does. He goes to preschool and loves it so I have an hour to myself each day while he is at school and McKelle is at Kindergarten and that goes by like 5 minutes - but hey, it's an hour!

Don't Take Life For Granted...

On Thursday, August 19, 2004, Ryan's mom was killed by a man she had been married to for 5 years. She had left him and was in the process of divorcing him when he stalked her and shot her when she was leaving for work. Needless to say, this was a very devastating and life-changing time for us. I was due to be induced and deliver my son the next Wednesday. I went into labor at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, and had Trevor exactly 48 hours after Marydell was killed. What a roller coaster of feelings! We were so thrilled to have our new baby boy, but so devastated at having lost our dear mom. Poor Ryan had to write a talk for his mom's funeral while we were in the hospital. I wasn't able to go to the funeral because I was still recovering from childbirth. We are so thankful to Heavenly Father for our blessings and for the knowledge that we will be reunited with our loved ones after this life!

Marydell LOVED and lived for her kids and her grandkids. She is always in our hearts and minds and will be forever missed. We love you mom!!!

McKelle is Born!

Mckelle Jane Leavitt was born in February 2003, after using fertility pills! We were so thrilled at our new baby girl and we are still enamored with her. She is the light of our lives and such a good kid. She just started Kindergarten and loves it!

Married At Last!

Ryan and I have been married now for over 11 years. We were married June 26, 1997 on a gorgeous summer day in the Salt Lake Temple. I can't believe it has been 11 years! Time flies when you're having fun!

Mission and College

Ryan went on his mission to Vienna, Austria and I went away to college at Weber State University. We wrote a lot to each other, but I wasn't waiting for him and he knew that so I dated while he served the Lord! His mom, Marydell, just knew we were meant to be together and she would call me all the time to find out what I was up to while Ryan was on his mission. If I wasn't home, she would leave a message on my answering machine and say, "Nicci, this is your future mother-in-law calling. If you are on a date, that's ok, just don't fall in love!" My roommates thought that was so funny. About 6 months before Ryan came home, I moved back home and transferred my credits to LDS Business College and finished there.

Ryan's mom insisted that I be there when he got off the plane. I didn't want to intrude on his family and felt pressured to be there, but she talked me into it. As soon as I saw Ryan come off the plane, I knew I was going to marry him! We were inseparable after that. We were engaged 11 days later and were married 2 1/2 months after that!

How Ryan and I Met

Ryan and I met when we were 15 years old. My sister lived in his neighborhood and I would babysit my niece, Candice, all the time and Candice had a friend, Cherish, who was Ryan's little sister. I was watching Candice and Cherish one evening and Ryan came to pick up Cherish. Ryan called me later that night and said he thought I looked 17 which for a 15 year old was very flattering! I was at the goofy-looking stage in my life with braces and not knowing how to do my hair, but Ryan thought I was cute anyway! We couldn't date until we were 16, so we just called each other a lot until we could. We dated here and there and I went to his Homecoming dance at Jordan and he went to my Husky Howl dance at Hillcrest. We were not exclusive, but we liked each other!
